Cue up some Vince Guaraldi: A new pop-up ice skating rink outside Park City Center mall saw its first skaters Friday afternoon.
Flight on Ice at Park City Center features a 60-by-100-feet recreational outdoor skating rink outside the former Bon-Ton retail space, heated tents and food and beverages for sale. The rink is a collaboration between Flight Entertainment, Discover Lancaster, the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Park City Center.
Friday’s first skate session was preceded by a ribbon-cutting event with brief remarks by organizers; the rink’s opening day also offered a DJ, giveaways and raffle prizes.
The opening, originally planned for Dec. 2, but delayed due to weather.
Attendees may bring their own skates or rent them for a fee.
Weather permitting, the ice rink’s schedule is: 4-8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; 4-10 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays. Hours are expanded around the holiday season; for most updated schedules, check the rink’s website at flightonice.com.
Flight on Ice is planned to be open through Feb. 26. Tickets are available at the box office or online at flightonice.com.
