Main Line Today Announces our Delco Rink

Main Line Today’s Samantha Geiger recently published the first article announcing our Delaware County Veterans Memorial Rink. It should be noted that our rink is not actually at the Veterans Memorial, but down the road next to the Bonefish Grill on Westchester Pike.

Here’s the full article:

Just in time for the winter season, Flight on Ice offers ice skating and family fun at Veterans Memorial in Delaware County.

Looking for festive holiday activities to do with friends and family? Ice skating is a holiday norm, but Delaware County lacked any venues to enjoy this winter to-do. That is, until now.

Flight Entertainment, a DJ events company, infuses its unique skills in entertainment and event coordination to produce Flight on Ice, an outdoor ice skating rink in Edgmont. This isn’t your ordinary skating rink, though. Along with ice skating at the real-deal rink, the Veterans Memorial will host different types of seasonal entertainment.

The winter wonderland will host events like Brunch with Santa for the entire family to enjoy. Other perks include food and beverage from friends at Toscana Ristorante, food truck events, dozens of photo-ops, TVs for football games and much more. Visit Delco’s 2,000-square-foot hospitality tent will be there for catering and other attractions.

Jon Schaffer, Owner and President of Flight Entertainment, has been striving to open a Flight on Ice location in Delaware County. There are currently locations in Egg Harbor City, Long Branch, N.J. and Albany, N.Y.

“Our company is based in Delco. I’m from Delco. It’s our backyard. I couldn’t picture doing any more of these [Flight on Ice rinks] without doing one in Delaware County,” he says.

Schaffer’s goal is to raise proceeds for the Veterans Memorial Charitable Foundation through different events and fundraisers. Every Monday will be a Veterans Day to contribute to the charity.

The rink has plans to open around the beginning of December and will stay open throughout the winter. It will be open Monday-Friday 3-10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

There are different ticket packages available for purchase now, including limited amounts of season passes and family four-packs with early bird pricing on sale through the website. Season passes are on sale for $99.99 and four-packs for $39.99. Either of these options would make for a perfect gift for the holidays.

If you are looking to host a private event such as a holiday party, birthday or corporate outing, this is the place to do it. Either rent out a rink or a tent and plan for a party that everyone will enjoy. Flight on Ice welcomes all ages.

The Veterans Memorial offers plenty of parking onsite, with about 120 spaces, along with spots in the shopping center next door.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, Flight on Ice is still looking for partners. Follow the link here for more information and plan for family fun this year at Delaware County’s first Flight on Ice!
